GOLDHEIST

The Flower & The Fiddle/ Of Elves & Ents / Spellbound – Songs & Stories

GOLDHEIST, known offstage as Hester Fraser, is and Australian artist whose music is a rich blend of storytelling and classical influences, deeply rooted in the Australian landscape. Her sound, which has been likened to luminaries such as Kate Bush, melds lyrical storytelling with an evocative musical style, drawing listeners into vivid narratives of Australian life from the bush and beyond.

Andrew Clermont “paints” a vivid musical landscape to Hester’s stories and imaginings – blending as if born together! From Didgeribone to Gourdalin, 5 – String Violalins to strident Harmonies. Like a never ending Sunset!

BLUGURU – Parvyn, Josh Bennett & Andrew Clermont

BluGuru since 2010

“Jeff Beck meets Ravi Shankar on the set of ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou’ while dancing in Rio”
A twisted tale of Indian, Blues, Celtic, Swing, Jazz, Bluegrass, and adventure. Fringe Award nominee Josh Bennett (Best Music) joins the genre-hopping antics of Andrew Clermont and the extraordinary vocals and dance of Parvyn (daughter of the renowned singer Dya Singh) to form BluGuru. All bets are off when it comes to what will happen at each show, with the genre and instrumentation changing from one song to the next, but you can expect soaring vocal harmonies, blistering guitar and fiddle, and then ‘instrument guest appearances’ by such as sitar, tabla, mandolin, banjo, didgeridoo, and of course, Parvyn’s shaker.

Parvyn Bennett (+ Percussion, Mandolin & Indian Dance);
Josh Bennett (Adelaide Fringe Award Nominee for Best Music) – Guitars & Mandolin to Sitar,  Dilruba, fiddle & Tabla.
Both also feature in super group Bombay Royale;
And chameleon Andrew Clermont, who is also a nutso Fiddler, Mandolinist & 3 time Bluegrass Guitar Champ to boot – 30 years touring –
from Tom T Hall, Dya Singh to Totally Gourdgeous and Golden Fiddle Award director!

They are distilled from a vibrant world touring history with
a 3 part harmonised twisting tale of gone Bluegrass/Celtic/ Blues/ Swing/ Jazz/ Indian adventure.

BluGuru was born of the Dya Singh world touring – gleaning influences from each festival and act they met.

Totally Gourdgeous

Formed in 1998, Australian band Totally Gourdgeous are four outrageously diverse singer/songwriter/musicians united under gourd. Indeed, playing instruments made from those woody cucurbits brings their music together to make folk funk philosophy to feed your wildest pumpkin longings. Penelope Swales (guitar), Carl Pannuzzo (drums), Mal Webb (bass, mbira and bugle) and Andrew Clermont (violin, mandolin and guitar) sing songs written by themselves and a few dear friends. Imagine Joni Mitchell and James Brown getting down in Bob Marley’s pumpkin patch via the Muppets. Infectious eclectic beauty in the gourdiest of costumes. All the instruments are hand-made from gourds by Penelope under the guidance of home-grown, world renowned luthier, Jack Spira. They combine to create a manic, organic musical experience,
Punning Pathos
Heartfelt Hilarity
Messages of love, fellowship and environmental sanity.
